The Hillsborough CTST conducts education and enforcement campaigns involving red light running, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and traffic safety. It also participates in the “Buckle Up Florida” and “You Drink, You Drive, You Lose” sustained enforcement efforts.
The Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST) is a multi-disciplined Federal, State and local government endorsed program developed to reduce the number of traffic crashes that occur on Florida roadways. The program is managed by the Florida Department of Transportation and supported by a wide range of community partners, such as: cities, counties, law enforcement, first responders, school districts, St. Joseph’s Hospital Wellness and Safety Center, John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Tampa General Hospital, Safe Kids, health care advocacy groups, MADD, Tampa Alcohol Coalition, Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), and more.
