VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING (VPH) NOTICE

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Seven, has scheduled a Virtual Public Hearing (VPH) for the proposed median modification to Fletcher Avenue (SR 579/CR 582A) between Florida Avenue (US Business 41) and Nebraska Avenue (US 41), Hillsborough County, Financial Project Number (FPN): 436481-1. This VPH is held pursuant to Chapters 120, 335.18 and 335.199, Florida Statutes.

The VPH will be held Tuesday, July 18, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The hearing is conducted as a VPH, or webinar, over the internet and is also held concurrently at one or more viewing locations. To participate in the VPH online, registration is required prior to joining the VPH. Only webinar users need to visit the website below to register:

People who register will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about joining the VPH online from a computer. People without access to a computer or the internet may attend the VPH at the following location:

The VPH opens at 3:00 p.m. and a PowerPoint presentation will begin promptly at 3:15 p.m. Please allow adequate log-in time in order to view the presentation in its entirety.

After the project PowerPoint presentation has concluded, there will be an opportunity for participants from both viewing locations, and those online, to provide verbal comments to be included in the official VPH record. After the verbal comment portion of the VPH has concluded, the project PowerPoint will run continuously for the duration of the VPH.

This public hearing is being conducted to afford affected property and business owners, interested persons and organizations, and local governments, the opportunity to provide comments to FDOT regarding the proposed median modification to Fletcher Avenue between Florida Avenue and Nebraska Avenue. The existing full median opening at Summit Avenue will be closed and a concrete separator constructed. Motorists traveling eastbound on Fletcher Avenue will no longer be able to turn left at this location and travel northbound on Summit Avenue. Southbound Summit Avenue motorists will no longer be able to turn left and travel east on Fletcher Avenue.

FDOT, District Seven, will receive verbal and written comments online and at each VPH location.
