As part of the City of St. Petersburg’s observance of Bike Month, Mayor Kriseman announced Black Crow Coffee Company as the first business to receive recognition in the City’s Bike Friendly Business initiative, recently launched as part of the League of American Bicyclists’ nationally-recognized program.

The City of St. Petersburg is taking a proactive approach by helping local companies become certified as Bike Friendly Businesses. The current phase of the program includes support from the City to help with completion of application, among other perks.

Deana Hawk, co-owner of Black Crow Coffee Co. offered the following advice: “Businesses who want to apply need to take a look at their community involvement now. How [is the business] engaging with the bicycling community? It is more than just a bike rack”. She went on to say the process was “really fun”.
