If you bike in Downtown Tampa you’re now eligible for special perks from some of the local businesses thanks to the Bike Friendly Tampa program from our founding partner Tampa Downtown Partnership. With 25 businesses already qualified and on board, bicyclists can cash in discounts and rewards in downtown Tampa just for riding their bike! In addition to discounts, some businesses offer safe and secure bike parking, safety instruction, bike repair kits and more.
The Bike Friendly Tampa program is working to create a bike friendly business district (BFBD) in Downtown Tampa that integrates and encourages bicycling through operations, promotions, and events bringing business back to local economies. Not to mention the fact that bicyclists both shop and spend more at small businesses than the average car driver.
To qualify, businesses must show a commitment to promoting and supporting cycling for their customers, employees, and the greater community. For a more specific list of qualifications and program criteria visit the Tampa BayCycle webpage. We hope this ever-growing program will continue to enhance both cyclists’ and businesses’ experience in the downtown Tampa community.
