Citizens welcome Courtney Campbell Trail

Bicyclists and pedestrians can now ride or walk from Pinellas to Hillsborough easily using the new 4-mile section of the Courtney Campbell Trail. The original Courtney Campbell Causeway Bridge only had 2-foot shoulders to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians. Now open to the public, the new and improved bridge is a separate structure that provides a dedicated motor less trail. Intended for safe travel, pedestrians and bicyclists can walk or ride with ease on this 16-foot wide bridge located just alongside the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

The beautiful 4-mile section runs from McMullen-Booth Road to the Hillsborough County line where it connects to the already existing 5.5-mile portion. The location could not be better! Not only does the bridge provide enough safe space for avid cyclists and runners, but also encourages physical activity! Where else can you hop on your bike and travel adjacent to the beautiful northern shore of Tampa Bay without sharing the road with a car or truck? Paved trails also allow walkers, joggers and bicyclists to travel between two counties while experiencing spectacular views of Tampa Bay atop the 45-foot-high pedestrian bridge. Go check out what the new Causeway has to offer!
